The Blind People’s Association is one of the largest organizations working for disability development in the country. It is known for its quality of services provided for the comprehensive development of person with disability. Its activities range from prevention of blindness and disability, education, professional and vocational training, awareness creation, production of mobility, educational and rehabilitation and assistive devices.
The N & H Eye Hospital has been set up by the BPA in Collaboration of the Bareja General Hospital Trust.The hospital provides comprehensive eye care services to the persons in 32 villages around Bareja. With the help and support of donors we are now able to reach Nadiad, Kheda, Anand and Ahmedabad. Hospital, which had capacity of 25 beds, has now capacity of 50 beds after the construction of 1st floor. Our target is to cover whole Gujarat. Mr. Indravijaysingh K. Jadeja, Minister, Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Gujarat inaugurated the N & H Eye Hospital on 19th of January 2003.
All the surgeries conducted by the expert doctors at N & H Eye Hospital have been successful.
Most of the surgeries were conducted on the poorest people and totally free of charge.
