About 2 years ago, his vision started gradually dimming and blurring in his right eye. He did not really notice it until it became markedly disabling. Then a year ago, an asha worker then announced that an eye camp organized by N&H eye hospital was taking place. So he decided to go for a checkup at the camp. He went to the camp and was toldthat he had cataract. He would have to get his eye operated upon to prevent total vision loss. The camp organizers took him in their truck/ambulance to the hospital. Therethey operated on him and was given a cotton eye patch with hygiene instructions.
Later, another cataract operation was conducted in the same hospital for the left eye, 5 months ago. Now his vision in both eyes is crystal clear. Although there is pain near the eyes in winter, he can lead a normal life now.

Overall Service At Hospital: The doctors were gentlemen, service was very good. After the operation, they were sent home with important instructions to preserve eye health, such as not going out in the bright sunlight, taking medicines regularly, and not letting water touch the operated eye.
Condition beforehand and after: Temabhai a resident of mahijda village started having vision problems when he was 63 yrs. His vision started blurring and he could not see properly. He started having difficulty in doing his day to day activities in the village. His son resided in bareja village he let him know of his eye codition but the family did not have enough money to go through with the operation as in their family only his son earned money ad there were too many mouths to feed. Temabhai had to put up with his eye condition due to his financial condition,he had no choice just like so many other elderly people in the village. Then one day in the village of mahijda came the feild workers of the Navalbhai and Hiraba Eye Hospital they told the people that they were going to organise a free eye check up camp and if need their operation would be done free of cost too!!!.. This was the silver lining in the clouded vision of our dear Temabhai. Temabhai like many others was filled with hope,he went to the eye check up camp where he was diagnosed and brought to the hospital for proper pre-operative care. The next on the 24th November 2009 he was operated for cataract on the left eye and soon he will be operated on the right eye. He had a very Nice experience at the hospital. After the operation, he was sent home with important instructions to preserve eye health, such as not going out in the bright sunlight, taking medicines regularly, and not letting water touch the operated eye.
