Maharshi Ashtavakra Yojana: |
|
Maharshi
Ashtavakra Yojana is a Community Based Rehabilitation Programme covering
disabled persons of Bhuj Taluka funded by Department of Social Justice
and Empowerment.
“CBR involves measures taken at the community level to use and build on
the resources of the community level to use and build on the resources
of the community, including the impaired, disabled and the handicapped
persons themselves, their families and their community as a whole”.
CBR is cost effective, individual need based and result oriented. |

Training of Community:
|
|
Training of
Community Based Rehab workers: KCRC was given the golden opportunity to
conduct one month Community Based Rehab training program. The training
program was conducted in two batches. In the 1st batch there were
trainees from Gandhidham and Mandvi taluka of BHUJ KUTCH and Gogha
taluka from Saurashtra. In the 2nd batch there were trainees from
Jodia,Dhroland
Sabarkundla taluka of Saurashtra. |

In total 110 persons were trained as
Community rehab workers under the Maharshi Ashtavakra Yojana of the
Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Training
of Parents:
|
|
Training of
Parents nurturing visually challenged children under the International
Council of Education for the Visually Impaired: KCRC conducted a six day
parent’s awareness and training program for the parents nurturing
visually impaired children. There were 10 parents from different areas
of Kutch who were benefited from the training program.

Training
of Health Workers:
|
|
Presently
KCRC is involved in the training program of the public health workers.
KCRC is taking care of the concepts related to early intervention and
rehabilitation. Already 120 health workers have been trained. It is an
ongoing project of the Handicap International and the Government.

Training
of Itinerent/Mobile Teachers of Kutch:
|
|
KCRC was
involved in the training program of the teachers of visually challenged
children of Kutch district of Gujarat. Teachers were trained. |

Training of PHC - CHC Medical Officers:
|
|
KCRC has
conducted 3 days Disability Management Training Program for PHC / CHC
doctors and is in the process of training more than 150 doctors of
Kahchh. A project of Rehabilitation Council of India and Ministry of
Social Justice & Empowerment. |

Viklang Bandhu:
|
|
Project of
the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, New Delhi for having
resource person in the community for disability management. 20,
volunteers have been trained for the period of 3 months. |

Training for parents of children with cerebral palsy:
|

Total Participants: 17 Parents
Keeping in mind the each target group, the awareness programme for the
parents of Children with CP was organized in collaboration with
Navjeevan (SVARAJ / OXFAM) INDIA. |

The training
programme gave a better idea to the parents to deal efficiently the
problems of their child a comprehensive knowledge was furnished by the
professionals regarding the day to day activities of the child.

RCI-CRE Training Programme:

Total Participants: 35
Institute organized the residential training programme for the special
educators recognized by the Rehabilitation council of India. The
training included participant trainees from Idar, Bagasra, Junagadh,
Surendranagar, Kapadvanj, Kheda,Patdi, Kachchh etc.. |
